Request Your Pet's Prescription Medication at MustCare Vets
Due to legislative requirements in Queensland, veterinarians can only prescribe medications if a valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) is established.
This means that for us to prescribe and dispense medications, we must have examined your pet within the last six months. This regulation ensures we have the most up-to-date understanding of your pet’s health and can provide safe, effective treatment.
If it’s been longer since we last saw your pet, please book an appointment so we can continue to provide the best care and meet these requirements. Thank you for your understanding.
At MustCare Vets, your pet’s health and safety are our top priorities.
How To Place An Order With Us
Your pet needs regular check-ups to continue their medication. Some pets may require a blood and/or urine test prior to dispensing medications, which we’ll discuss with you. Generally, a six-monthly exam is enough for most stable conditions, but chronic issues like congestive heart failure need more frequent visits.
We cannot supply prescription medication if your pet hasn’t been examined by one of our veterinarians within the last six months. Prior to your medication being dispensed, a veterinarian will need to prescribe the correct medication, dose and quantity to treat your pet’s condition.
How long will it take to get your order?
- On submission of this below order form, you will hear back from our team within 24-48 business hours.
- If we don’t stock your medication or have it on hand, it can take between 7-10 days for your order to arrive. If this is the case, we will notify you.
To order medication, please fill out the below form. Make sure your pet qualifies by having a recent exam within the last six months. If your pet has not had a recent exam with us, please note that we will call you to arrange a suitable consultation time in line with legislative requirements.
Struggling to give your pet their medication?
To help pets who have difficulty taking their medications, we can work with compounding pharmacists to create custom solutions, such as flavored treats or easy-to-apply creams that absorb through the skin—making it easier for your pet to get the care they need. For more details, contact us.
